1. Hotel New Grand: Classic hotel with harbor & park views (Yamashita Park / Motomachi-Chukagai area)

Hotel New Grand opened in 1927 as a landmark of the port city of Yokohama, offering a classic, authentic hotel experience with a front view of Yamashita Park. The main building, which retains the charm of its original opening, is a Yokohama-certified historic building and is also designated as part of Japan’s Modern Industrial Heritage.

Inside, guests are greeted by elegant European classic interiors, with rooms overlooking both the sea and the city. The panoramic French restaurant, Le Normandie, located on the 5th floor of the Tower Wing, is another highlight. The hotel is also known for classic Western dishes created here, including the Seafood Rice Gratin, Spaghetti Napolitan, and Pudding à la Mode, all of which can still be enjoyed today at The Cafe on the first floor of the main building.

The surrounding area includes Yokohama Chinatown and Motomachi, making it a special place where history is alive.
