Taking place in one of the most dynamic cities in the world and accompanied by extensive programs centred on art awareness and education, Tokyo Gendai is a platform for commercial, artistic and intellectual exchange, and a nexus of cross-cultural discovery.

The third special exhibition Tsubomi ‘Flower Bud’ focuses on women artists using traditional craft techniques and explores the rise of artisan methods in the contemporary art scene.

Hana Artist Award:supporting emerging artists

Launched this year, this award will be given to outstanding artists participating in Tokyo Gendai’s Hana ‘Flower’ sector (Galleries will showcase either a solo or a dual presentation of artists at an early or mid-stage in their career.)
